The genus Vulpes comprises 12 diverse species of “true” foxes. The most prevalent is the Red which has the scientific name Vulpes vulpes and is found through the best of the Northern Hemisphere. Three other genera Urocyon, Otocyon, and Lycalopex comprise the “non- true” foxes.
